DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) mission statement is to “prevent, detect, and investigate the diversion of controlled pharmaceuticals and listed chemicals from legitimate sources while ensuring an adequate and uninterrupted supply for legitimate medical, commercial, and scientific needs.” Importation of any controlled substance listed in schedule I or II or any narcotic drug listed in schedule III, IV, or V first requires registration with the DEA. Thereafter, a full interview regarding security, internal quality control, recordkeeping, and an inspection of your facility is done to determine whether you qualify for a DEA registration. If approved and given a DEA number, DEA permits are filed with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) for each entry.

Our firm assists with the DEA registration process (e.g. capsule filling machines, controlled substances) and subsequent filing of DEA permits with CBP.
