The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) regulates regulating the safety of consumer products nationwide. With respect to importing there are specific products, which are typically targeted (e.g., children’s toys for lead and phthalate content). The CPSC has directly provided the following:

  • Children’s Gasoline Burn Prevention Act

A failure to meet CPSC regulations will result in detention (issued directly by CPSC compliance investigator or field investigator), seizure, notice to redeliver (Notice to Mark and/or Notice to Redeliver) and/or liquidated damages.
